Brighton Mini Maker Faire 2014 is partly supported with public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
As a result, for a third year, we are very pleased to be able to offer a grant programme to help Makers coming to the Faire. If you’re a Maker at this year’s event, read on to find out how you can benefit.
What we’re offering
We’re offering a limited number of grants of up to £200, to contribute towards your costs, effort and time in coming to Brighton Mini Maker Faire.
All non-commercial makers who have returned signed Maker Agreement and Risk Assessment forms to us are eligible to apply.
We will allocate grants based on demand and quality of application. Please give us a clear indication of what the money will be spent on (e.g. materials, travel, accommodation, or your time, if you are a professional maker).
The deadline for applications was Friday 8th August 2014. If you have missed the deadline and would like to contact us to request a grant, please email email@example.com.
- Grants will only be paid against invoices for the agreed amount.
- Grants will not be awarded without receipt of a Maker Agreement and Risk Assessment.
- Grants are limited and will not be awarded to Makers who are funding their attendance at the Maker Faire via independent means, eg by charging for workshops or selling items.
- Grants will not be paid to makers who do not bring their project to Brighton Mini Maker Faire 2014.
We will review all applications and contact the successful applicants to let you know how much you’ve been awarded, and to send you a grant agreement. We aim to contact all successful applicants by 15 August.
Invoicing and payment
Assuming all conditions are met, we will ask all Makers to invoice us for their agreed grant amount after the event. In some circumstances – for example, if you are incurring significant costs in bringing your project to Brighton Mini Maker Faire – we may be able to pay your grant before the event.
