Meet the Maker: Antweight Robots

As part of our “Meet the Makers” interview series, we asked our Makers to tell us a little about themselves. Today, meet Gary from Antweight Robots!

Photo by Mark Mellors, used with permission1) Who are you and where do you come from?

I’m Gary, Brighton born and bred. At Brighton Mini Maker Faire I will be ably assisted by members of the antweight robot community from across the South East.

2) What do you do?

I’m an electronics engineer and am lucky to get paid for doing what I enjoy! Collectively we build and battle miniature remote-controlled combat robots. Think “Robot Wars” shrunk to fit on a table-top.

3) Do you have a website?

4) What will you have on your stall?

We will have a variety of robots on display and available for visitors to have a go with. Plus loads of information for people that want to get started with the hobby.

5) Are you running any workshops?

No, but the stand is very interactive as visitors of all ages are encouraged to have a go at driving the robots.

6) Have you been to a Maker Faire before?

Yes, we missed the first Brighton Mini Maker Faire but have been here ever since!

Discounted advance tickets for Brighton Mini Maker Faire 2014 are now available!
