Meet the Maker: Mirobot

As part of our “Meet the Makers” interview series, we asked our Makers to tell us a little about themselves. Today, meet Ben from Mirobot!

Mirobot1) Who are you and where do you come from?

I’m Ben Pirt and I’m from Hertford.

2) What do you do?

I make Mirobot, which is a build-it-yourself WiFi robotics kit for teaching children (of all ages!) about technology, engineering and programming. I recently had a successful Kickstarter where I raised 500% of my target and am now developing Mirobot further as I get feedback from the community. My goal is to get it into the hands of as many children as possible and to bring some cool maker tech into schools. I originally developed it for my kids but thought it would be good to push it out into the world.

3) Do you have a website?

4) What will you have on your stall?

I’ll be showing off Mirobot and talking to lots of people.

5) Are you running any workshops?

No, but come and use Mirobot on the stand!

6) Have you been to a Maker Faire before?

Yes, I was at the Maker Faire UK in Newcastle earlier this year. Exhausting but great!

7) Anything else you want to share?

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Discounted advance tickets for Brighton Mini Maker Faire 2014 are now available!
