As part of our “Meet the Makers” interview series, we asked our Makers to tell us a little about themselves. Today, meet Mike from Superpants!
I’m Mike Pantrey, aka Superpants – based just outside Daventry and will be joined by a few friends.
2) What do you do?
As a day job I’m an engineer designing electric vehicle systems, but as a hobbyist I have a fairly wide range of interests that include tinkering, letterpress printing, photography, furniture making, upcycling etc.
The particular areas I have of interest that I will be exhibiting include experimenting and being artistic with fluids, especially messy ones – I seem to have become an expert in goo as a sideline and have been involved in an advert using a lot of it (not yet released).
3) Do you have a website?
4) What will you have on your stall?
We will be making a general mess by firing paint cannons at paper and enabling kids to take their pictures away. I am also putting together a kit to make various types of goo that will be available.
I’ll probably bring some smaller projects as well – including lighting projects.
5) Are you running any workshops?
I’m not running any formal workshops but my stand will be interactive with a number of things for people to do.
6) Have you been to a Maker Faire before?
This will be my third Brighton Mini Maker Faire, but have also done all but one of the UK Maker Faires in Newcastle.
7) Anything else you want to share?
This paint cannon example.
